Beaverton, Ore. - November 24, 2020 - Nike Cross Virtual (NXV) Championship Week concluded Tuesday in dramatic fashion, as the Wickham Distance Project XC Club (FL) boys edged Stumptown Running XC Club (OR) boys in the final day of competition, while Desert Vista XC Club (AZ) girls narrowly beat Run Brave XC Club (ID).

In the boys team race, Wickham Distance Project XC Club lined up as the second-to-last competing team, knowing what Stumptown Running XC Club had run earlier in Championship Week. Wickham ran a flawless race, kicking to the finish and scoring a dramatic 52-56.5 win over Stumptown.
Wickham followed the lead of Gabe Montague (Sr.), who finished third overall in 14:53.6. While the boys race had a thrilling conclusion, the girls team race was even closer. Desert Vista XC Club edged Run Brave XC Club, 53.5-55, behind fourth and fifth place finishes from frontrunners Lauren Ping (So.) and Katie Sigerud (Jr.). Run Brave XC Club followed the lead of their own dynamic duo, as freshmen Samantha Smith and Allie Bruce placed tenth and 13th overall.
Coming in third, the Stumptown Running XC Club (OR) girls scored 99.5 points, running behind Chloe Foerster (Jr.,) and her fifth place finish.
Individually, Angelina Perez (Jr., Lakeland Regional XC Club, NJ) won the girls individual title.
