Mia Barnett, a senior at Crescenta Valley High competing as a California individual qualifier in the Nike Cross Virtual championship week, covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:16.40 at Central Park in Santa Clarita, Calif. Barnett, a Virginia signee, was originally believed to have run around 17 minutes, but a moment of misdirection on the course resulted in her being credited with 17:16.40 on the AthleticAPP to place ninth overall, including fifth among individual qualifiers.
